Monster Saturday Night in Tokyo….

April 20, 2008

Well, I am exhausted just thinking about how long this blog post has to be in order to do justice to the monster night I had last night… I think the only way I can cope is to just give a list….

- 9pm drinks at Clann’s Irish Pub in Jiyugaoka, it had a 4th anniversary party and I was with S and her friends (all women…) and drank alot of Guiness and did not eat much food…. S was fun and I am liking her alot… her friends are all nice too

- A bar in Nishi-Azabu (small small bar, cant remember name, had Oban 14 years, with S’s architect friend who was quite cute)

- e-Life in Roppongi (major nightclub, about 5 levels, all different music – probably the cause of most earthquakes in Tokyo: had a great time but got punched in the nose for no reason).  Best dancing I have had in Tokyo so far and it was awesome. Super super super crowded and a bit scarey when I lost my people and could not get my jacket back from the cloaking room because it was with my friends stuff and they had the token…. but I found them eventually. They were not worried about my absence, which is a bit worrying!!

- Ramen somewhere nearby, insisted by S.  I had too many campari and orange so Ramen did not seem too good to me and I could not eat much

- Motown 2 in Roppongi (I dont like this bar very much, too many  tourists and drunk angry gaijin men frustrated by the hot japanese girls dancing with other gaijins but not with them…plus it has a cruise-ship feel to the music: maybe 5 years out of date if not more)

- Vibration in Roppongi (my usual…. good music, expensive drinks, weird people)

Then, I caught the metro home (first train) and got home by 6.30 am, woke up on the couch at 9.30 so the Fujitsu guy could pick up my Tablet and then I dozed for a bit.

Party invitations by BLOG site….

April 20, 2008

I had this great idea earlier this weekend…. For my next party I am going to create a new Blog and use it as the invitation, with photos and information about access, etc etc, and password protect the private info…. My idea is to email my invitees with the blog’s address and the password….   Then after the party I can upload photos from the party and they can all access them!! Great idea. I can have different pages for each party I have and have different passwords for each party (because my friends change…hmmm…. anyway).  I am looking forward to the next party because I have a big reason for celebration and I might just buy some Dom Perignon….

Tablet goes to Hospital

April 20, 2008

As I mentioned previously, my Tablet PC suffered a little disaster – namely it had one corner broken off when it fell off my suitcase when I was rushing to get to the office for my business trip…. anyway, I did some research and found the Fujitsu International Help line, and I have been so impressed with the perfect after sales service!!  This justifies spending a bit more on Fujitsu.  Admittedly, the service is excellent because I live in Japan and Fujitsu has its biggest market here.  But, in any event, I spoke to the guy (perfect English).  Not a warranty claim so it should be easy to get fixed.   He reviewed some facts and basically quoted just 30,000 yen for a 2 week turnaround. That fee is just for the parts, and no delivery charge etc.  He asked what time tomorrow (a Sunday!!) would I like to have it picked up by the courier. They will then fix it and return it likewise.  The guy picked it up and the packaged it lovingly with care…. amazing.  So, now I just have to wait for my favourite piece of technology to come back from hospital.

Fujitsu Limited (International Helpdesk) – Tablet PC repairs

April 20, 2008

I found this information on one of the many Fujitsu websites….  It gives details on who to call in Japan for getting your Fujitsu lifebook or tablet fixed… the service is in English and amazingly good.
